Frontier Unlocked – July 2025 | Elite Dangerous, Planet Coaster 2, Jurassic World Evolution 3
Wednesday 30 July brought players their monthly dose of news and reveals, as a packed Frontier Unlocked showcase offered interviews, first looks and more. Kicking off with the unveil of the Lakon Type-11 Prospector coming to Elite Dangerous, Planet Coaster 2’s Rich Newbold then dropped by to share some news on what’s coming up in the next update, Planet Zoo: Console Edition has a new DLC bundle inbound, and Jurassic World Evolution 3 recapped this month’s dinosaur reveals!

Jurassic World Evolution 3
For this month’s recap, Senior Concept Artist Emma Haephrati talked about the process of taking fossil evidence and scientific studies, turning those into Jurassic World Evolution 3’s breathtaking dinosaurs. Focusing in Utahraptor and Lokiceratops, players enjoyed an extended look at how these family units interact, and a focus on some of the visual details which might have been missed!

Planet Coaster 2
Game Director Rich Newbold returned to Unlocked this month to give players a sneak peek at the team’s current work on the next free update, which will include the addition of Challenge mode! This new mode will test players’ abilities to run a successful theme park, with different difficulty levels offering different objectives to complete. Successfully achieving an objective will reward Park Managers with more to spend on meeting the next objective, and so on.

Elite Dangerous
Art Director Chris Gregory returned to the sofa this month to share concept imagery and early renders of the next new ship coming to Elite Dangerous, the Lakon Type-11 Prospector. Arriving this autumn, this medium mining vessel carries an industrial look and also includes a unique hardpoint spot alongside its off-centre cockpit.
