Our Social Responsibility
At Frontier, we carefully consider the social impact of the business.
We look for regular opportunities to support both our physical neighbours and our peers within the games industry and wider sector. We focus our assistance on sponsoring various charitable initiatives, including dedicated support and regular partnerships. Led by our internal Engagement Group, we have reviewed and refined our charitable giving process and strategy, which will be defined by two initiatives: Employee-led Fundraising and Charitable Donations. Fundraising is an important focus for many of our employees and we look to support them in gaining engagement with their fundraisers by matching donations raised by them towards their cause.
Charitable donations are given to a variety of charities, with input on the selection process from our people. Historically we have supported several charities or initiatives, including Cambridge PRIDE, Special Effect and The Centre for Computing History.
Through Planet Zoo, Frontier has consistently partnered with highly acclaimed zoos and conservation charities to highlight education and support animal welfare not only in-game but also in real life. Since the game's launch in 2019, our partners have included the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park), the Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity (Shepreth Wildlife Park), Chester Zoo, San Diego Wildlife Alliance, and the Ecosystems Knowledge Network.
We hold a strong and positive influence on computer science education – with our President and Founder, David Braben as one of the founders of the Raspberry Pi foundation, which has enabled affordable access to computing technology across the world. Within Frontier, we continue to push for positive change in education to support future generations in their understanding of computer science and career development.
Through our continued engagement with schools and universities, we aim to inspire young people to consider a career within the games industry.
